About Us

Hello and welcome! 

One of the most commonly asked questions we get is how we came up with our business name (Ole & Bean Creations). Ole is my husband (Mike).  Our last name is Olson.  Mike used to be part of a local racecar pit crew (#66 Steve Carlson) and all the race guys always called him Ole. Bean is me (Susan). My dad called me Bean since I was itty bitty and I was a HUGE Daddy's girl, so I'm honoring his memory with my business name. We make 99% of everything we sell, thus the Creations part of our name.

It seems like we've been in business FOREVER, but in reality, Ole & Bean Creations came into fruition in 2007 when I found myself 6 months pregnant and unemployed. I grew up with my Mom doing craft shows and later my Dad made a few wood items as well, so you might say it's in my blood. 

When Mike & I started Ole & Bean, we mainly sold scented products like candles & wax melts.  Over the past 19 years we've added LOTS of different handmade products to include a variety of fabric crafts. You never know what you'll find at our craft show booth!

We also had an actual storefront in downtown Sparta for just shy of 12 years.  We sold our buildings in 2023 and have been focusing on craft shows and other vendor events.

Mike grew up in Cashton, WI and Susan grew up in Sparta, WI.  We have 2 grown children and 2 dogs.  One interesting fact about Mike (Ole) is that he had a lifesaving liver transplant in 2000.
